Standley’s 13th Annual 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament sign-ups have started! Get your teams of three (you can also have a 4th player as a sub), along with your Favorite 4 year University, and sign up with Mr. Hartman at Lunch Time! Team rosters must be turned in by Friday February 20th! We will start games the last week of February!

Standley Soccer and Volleyball Teams had a full slate of games on Saturday! All 4 teams made it to the semi-finals! Unfortunately, our Boys Volleyball and Boys Soccer teams fell short in their semi-final matches.
Our Girl Soccer team made it to the finals, but fell short to Challenger 3-1 in the Finals. Congratulations for finishing in 2nd Place!
Our Girls Volleyball Team finished their History making run, finishing the season UNDEFEATED, crushing Lewis 25-10 & 25-7 in the Finals, bringing Standley its 2nd Championship home! Josie Adamson was also named the MVP for the Finals! Congratulations to Coach Baca & the Girls for a Perfect season!

The schedule will be posted soon on the Standley Website Calendar and Mr. Hartman’s Door outside the Main Office. All games and Matches will take place on Saturday at Mira Mesa High School. This week is National School Counseling Week. This year's theme is: School Counselors Amplify Student Success. National School Counseling Week, presented by ASCA, highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. American author Henry James once said: "Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind." Next week, schools all over the country will be participating in Great Kindness Week to recommit to the importance of kindness. One way to show your commitment to kindness here at Standley is by participating in our kindness week spirit days. On Monday, wear your Standley gear or wear Standley colors (blue, grey, and white) to show you intend to be kind to the people in your lives and the people you meet. Check the chalkboard by the basketball court for all of the spirit days. Wear Standley gear or colors on Monday!

Today we will ring in the Holiday with an all school 45 Minute Lunch! All students will go to Lunch TODAY AFTER 4th Period, then you will go to Academic Prep for 15 minutes after that. We will also have our annual 5 on 5 Students vs. Staff Basketball game during the last 20 minutes of Lunchtime on Thursday as well.

We are excited to announce the winners of the Red Ribbon Week Door Decorating Contest. Thank you to all the advisory classes who participated. It was very difficult to choose just one winner, so we have a tie for first place and one second place winner. Both first place winning classrooms will get an ice cream party for their entire class next week. In addition, the two teachers with winning doors will get their advisory class covered by the administration, giving them an extended lunch break. Standley’s 11th Annual 5 on 5 Basketball Tournament semi-Finals goes down today at Lunch Time! The winner will play next Monday during 2nd Lunch! Good luck to all 4 remaining teams!
Speaking of Basketball, both of our Middle School Athletics Basketball Teams competed on Saturday. Our Boys team lost a close game to Marshall Middle in the semi-finals. The girls team defeated Marshall Middle in their semi-final game, but fell short in the finals to Taft, ending a great run starting the playoffs as an 8 seed.
We also had our Track & Field team competing on Saturday as well. Congratulations to the following students:

It’s time! Standley’s last-student-standing, winner-take-all elimination challenge is back. ASB’s Bird Game 2025 begins during both lunches on Tuesday, November 4. First, you register. Next, you show up to the basketball court on the announced day to find out what the day’s challenge is. Survive the challenge, and move on. Be the last student standing and win a pizza party for you and your friends. Some of the challenges require skill, some require strategy, and some just require luck…there’s nothing like it! Look for the sign-up board by ASB room 601 and sign up. You only have next week to register, so don’t wait. Only registered students can participate. Good luck!
Today is all about showing your commitment to being RED-y to live drug-free! We will have our Red Ribbon Pledge banner set up during lunch today. Stop by to sign your name and make your promise to stay drug-free. Tomorrow’s theme is CAMO DAY, so wear your best camouflage.

Next week is Red Ribbon week! We’re celebrating living drug free all week long with daily lunch activities and spirit week. This year’s theme is “Life is a Puzzle- Solve it Drug Free.” Monday is wear red day to show we are READY to live drug free.
Good luck tomorrow to both our Standley Basketball teams! All games are at Mira Mesa High School. The Girls will play Marshall at 8 a.m. If they win, they will play either Roosevelt or Taft in the Eastern League Finals at 12 p.m.! The Boys will also take on Marshall in the Western League Semifinals at 4 p.m. If they win, they will play either Bethune or Bell in the Championships at 7 p.m. Great job Seahawks, go get that Championship!
Our Track qualifiers will also be at Mira Mesa on Saturday for individual finals! Field events start at 9 a.m., Running events start at 11 a.m. Good luck to all our Seahawk student athletes! The following students will be participating:

Congratulations to both our Basketball teams, as they won their quarterfinal playoff games over the weekend! Our Girls upset #1 Eastern League seed CPMA, and will play Marshall at Mira Mesa HIgh School at 8 a.m. on Saturday. The boys will also take on Marshall in the Western League Semifinals at 4 p.m., also at Mira Mesa. If they win thor games, they move on to the Championships that same day. Great job Seahawks, go get that Championship!

There is really nothing like going through the Haunted Hallway with your friends, screaming and covering your eyes, then emerging out the other side laughing and excited to do it again. It’s a middle school experience you’ll remember and talk about forever! Get your ticket form at the main office or in the ASB student store. Fright Night is only four days away. Don’t wait!
